I don’t mean any disrespect… but many times I’ve heard people say, “Oh they have an anointing for this or that,” when really they had a gift or talent that they were given by God at birth. As they grew, they discovered and developed it through practice.
It’s true that you need to develop, practice, and grow into the fullness of the anointing on your life also. But gifts and talents are things that God gifts us with at birth. In other words, that is not our “anointing.”
God anoints us to do what we could not do without Him. God anoints us to fulfill a role He assigns us, and more often than you may realize, to fulfill a role you are required to fulfill. You may call it grace, but there is a difference when it is a set role with the spiritual force of the expectations of many people in agreement.
God gives us a measure of His Spirit, His presence and power, toward a purpose. Gifts and talents are tools that help us, and they become a unique part of how we live and function. But our purpose is not found or fulfilled through gifts or talent alone.
