I Am In Christ! - Jeremy Caris

I Am In Christ!

I have a whole new life in Christ. But if I don’t understand what that means, then I will wander through life with a case of mistaken identity. When I gave my life to God, I died and was raised to a new life. I am now hidden in Christ and He defines me.  If I don’t know who God says I am, then I am essentially carrying around a false I.D., trying to be someone that I am not. If I embrace my new identity, I naturally begin to grow up into my new life in Christ.

“It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.” Eph 1:11-12 MSG

It is by God’s design that I am in Christ so that I might live through Him, and the current realities of being in Him are becoming evident in my life as I grow in the knowledge of Jesus.

1Co 1:30; 1Jo 4:9; Eph 1:11-12; 3:17; Gal 2:20; Col 2:10,12; 3:10

I have already passed from death into eternal life now and I am living with the guarantee that I am His and that He will continue to deliver me completely by raising even my physical body from the dead.

Eph 1:4; Rom 6:23; 1Co 15:19,22; 2Co 1:21-22; 5:4-5

I am living in the forgiveness of God, the penalty for my sin has been paid in full, and I am in right-standing with God, free from guilt and condemnation.

Eph 1:7; 2Co 5:21; Rom 3:24; Rom 8:1; Gal 2:16

I am liberated and free to live for God since I have been freed from the law of sin and death and I am dead to sin, which no longer has power to force me to obey it’s demands.

Gal. 2:4,16; 5:6; Rom 6:11,14; 8:2,36; 1Pe 2:16

I am chosen by God, set apart as holy for God, and brought near to God, even while I am still in the process of growing up into the full maturity of Jesus as I become who God says I am.

Eph 1:4; 2:13,22; 1Co 1:2; Col 1:28, 2:7,11; Phi 2:13

I am no longer merely human, because I am a whole new kind of creature in Christ, wrapped up in, hidden in, and defined by Jesus.

2Co 5:17; Gal 3:26; 6:15; Col 3:3; Eph 1:11-12

I have the mind of Christ and the fellowship of the Spirit, with the peace of God guarding me and guiding me as I receive knowledge, understanding, and wisdom from above.

Col 2:3; 3:15; Phi 4:7; 1Co 1:5; 2:16; 2Ti 3:15; Jam 3:17

I am only being reasonable when I expect good things, when I hope and dream big, when I believe for the best, and when I am thankful in all circumstances.

Phi 1:6; 4:13; 1Th 5:28; 1Co 13:7; Rom 5:5; 8:28

I have the same inexpressible joy, inseparable love, unrelenting grace, and overwhelming favor that is shared between Jesus, the Father, and Holy Spirit.

1Co 1:4; Gal 3:26; 2Ti 1:9,13; 2:1; Rom 8:38-39; 1Th 1:6

I have the potential of Jesus, with His strength and authority working in me, through me, and with me, making me more than able to do greater things than He did when He walked the Earth.

Joh 14:12; Eph 2:6,10; Phi 4:13; 1Jo 2:6; 4:17

I have compassionate boldness and the confident assurance of the faith of Jesus as I pray to God and decree that it would be on Earth as it is in Heaven.

2Co 1:20; Eph 3:12; Heb 5:1; Mat 14:14; Mar 11:22

I have all things available to me for an overly abundant physical, emotional, and spiritual life, both now and in the future, empowering me to be as generous as God is.

2Pe 1:3-4; Eph 1:3; 3:6; Phi 4:19; 1Co 1:5,7; Psa 84:11
